You can download and save internet videos to your computer. I think this will be good for dial up users.
Go get the URL for the video you want to save, and paste it in
KeepVid: Download videos from Google, Youtube, iFilm, Putfile, Metacafe, DailyMotion!. You may have high and low res options. Save it to disc. If on a slow connection, start the download and walk away/go to bed.
You may need a player for the vid. They are .flv amd .mp4 files. I use the "Applian FLV Player". I think quicktime will play these flv's.. I needed the player for the mp4's. Gives a nice 2x window size.
