That's a good tank as I put them in Micro sprint cars we ran out of the shop. I have a 4 gal Aluminum fuel cell already that is a Great Safe tank.
Can't be no worse than a engine with the gas tank on top !

Yeah I thought so and I can put hose on filler going to the original filler cap on back.

How much room do you have behind seat?

My Attex has zero since the engine is there and the tank in front doesn't seem like a bad spot.

I want to put it in the rear tub Away from me. I have a spot and it is away from the engine also. Would make for good weight transfer !
Just trying to clean up the machine some as the guy before me did a real deal on the starcraft !!
I have the top going to be Media blasted and then repaired. Also plan on making a Roll bar as it has mounting holes where one was on it. Would LOVE to find a pic or two of the factory racer.

There have been a bunch of racers with the fuel cells in the rear of the machine, including one of mine. As long as you keep it away from the exhaust and the ignition, I'd think that it would be fine. The tank right in front of me always makes me a little nervous when the speed builds up.

All that high-octane right in front of me always makes me a little nervous when the speed starts to build.

Thank's Don ! I have been in Racing all my life. I grew up in it and I have made a good living back in the day building them for customers. I made great friends and lost some also. In MY opinion NO racer Small or Big should run an OPEN TANK ! All should have some sort of Fuel cell in them.
The foam inside keeps the fuel from just Dumping out ! Look at it this way. You have NO fire suet on. Your sitting Rite behind a 5 gallon tank of Gas if you damage it in a crash where is it going to go ?
Plus there is a HOT engine behind you ! Sounds like your caught in the middle of a open pit cook off !!!!
Just my opinion but FIRE SCARERS THE $HIT OUT OF ME !!!
    BEEN THERE DONE THAT !!!
