how much argo for $3500
HI, I am new to argo's. I need a vehicle to take me over terrain that is just a bit too tough for the average atv. I am thinking that a 6x6 might do it. There is an ad on a local site for a 6x6 argo with electric start, winch and supertracs for 3500. Ad says it is in `great condition' and has had recent maintainance. Does this sound like a reasonable price for something decent? If it was an atv I might expect to get a decent bike for this price. Is this true for argos too? I do not know anything about argos . What kind of maintianance should I be concerned about. How much should you have to pay for something that will last a few years with minimal repair? What questions are important to ask when buying a used argo? What common problems should I look for ? Warning signs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look at: Tires, slack in chain, holes in hull, wear of slack adjusters, general appearance (has it been maintained or cleaned up for quick sale)
Take it for a ride. Listen for loud bangs when the breaks are applied one side at a time (this is an indication of worn sprockets or stretched chains)
What year is it ? I recently traded a 1994 Suzuki King Quad 4x4 even trade for a 1990 6 X 6 (complete with new bottom hull that I had to install) So far I've sunk close to a grand into various parts and haven't even looked at engine tune up yet or tires replaced......So do the math. I figured the Bike was worth $2500.00.

For the questions to ask and what to look for be sure to use our Used ATV Buyer's Guide. For $3500 if you aren't in a hurry I would watch Craigslist and find a Bigfoot in great shape with very few hours or anything 2000 or newer model year. You see them often in the $4000 range and if you call around there are a lot of people that are needing the cash right now.
Welcome to the site.
