What was the cheesiest repair you ever seen?

This may not be the cheesiest but I got a chuckle from it when I noticed that some one had used a rubber band in place of an expansion spring on the drive chains slack take up assembly. There was allot of surface rust and I just started to spray gear chain lube on so it may be hard to see. The funny thing is it sort of works. In case any one needs to replace one of these assemblies the Argo part number is 647-10 for the whole kit
This amble is composed of
one 125-61 spring Tensioner,
two 603-61 Slider Blocks,
one 125-78 spring spacer ,
one 603-77 upper chain tensioner arm
one 603-76 lower chain tensioner arm
one 100-01 cotter pin 1/8x1.5”
one 603-78 pivot Pin
one 603-66 Spacer ½ i.d. x5/8

Talk about a tight ass,or maybe a quick fix to get out of a bad situation.But you would think this would have been fixed soon.

He could have temporarily fixed it and thought when it goes in trouble he would replace it but never did. It is in an difficult spot too, under the gas tank.

I fixed my wind shield wiper motor in a cheesy way, some how it lost its ground and I wedged a bolt between it and the fire wall. It was all I could find in a rain storm and that was a few years ago. Thanks for reminding me it is still there I will go fix it properly when service it again LOL.
