    grease

Am I to assume the engineers who designed the greaseable outer bearings in combination with the spacers did not ever plan on greasing their machines? I do not see an easy way to do this despite the holes in the hubs. The holes do not line up with the fittings. It would seem the only way to do it is to remove the tracks and each wheel.

You will have to use a "neddle fitting for your grease gun, availabe at any parts store. 6 inches will do fine. Line it up withe the center of the zerke and go for it. Good luck!

What you probably need is a straight rigid grease gun extension.

needle fitting will get you in there. @ mike, when you put wheel extensions on the HDI bearing assembly there is a hole drilled through the flange and wheel for acesing the greas zerk on HDI axels. With wheel spacers it gets so far out of alignment it really sucks!

Gotcha. Mine doesn't have spacers and it's still a little misalligned but managable with the straight extension at a slight angle. I guess the spacers make the angle even worse. How are you using the needle? Are you putting it through the edge of the seal on the bearing?

No no never through the side of the seal, that will distroy it. You can use the needle fitting to depress the small ball valve in the tip of the grease zirk. Is it a pain the the neck? yah. Does it work? if you push REALLY hard, hold your mouth right it works some of the time.

I see. The only thing I imagined with the needle fitting was that you were going through the seal and like you mentioned, that would ruin it. I didn't think about being able to get grease in the zerk with the needle. Thanks for the clarification.

    Hey Atc250r,

I had to go to the hardware store and get 6" plumbing nipples (threaded pipe) and couplers the same dia. as the extention on the grease gun. I also had to use the slight angled tip that comes with the gun. A straight shot doesn't work. The extention on my gun is now about 12", and you should be able to line it all up, and push it on the zert by going thru the rim. I have the exact same setup as you, with a little practice you will have it down in a few min.
