Thread: New 2015 Argo 750 hdi

  1. #11
Called dealer today and talked to service guy. He told me to make sure you are running 0w-30 or 5w-30 oil. Very important on the 750 kohler motor. He said then disconnect the negative post and turn key on for 5 mins. Then shut key off and reconnect. He said this resets tps and resets ecu. So im going to do oil change and then do the reset and see if it fixes my problem. He thinks it will. If not might be a temp sensor issue. Now to try and change the oil without making a mess.. lol

If you have a new battery, good gas, and you can hear the electric fuel pump behind the seat before you start it, your computer might need to be recalibrated.
Ive had this happen before, and most times it will adjust eventually to your area, but there is a way to recalibrate the computer, and directions for this is in a service bulletin. This is a fairly easy thing to do,and involves a jumper wire.
If your unit is backfiring after letting off the gas, this is another indication of computer issues.
Your 2015 should have no problem starting and staying running at -20,as I havent had any starting or running issues with the 750 in cold weather.
If I can find the service bulletin I will post it for you.

That would be excellent. Waiting on oil filter so I can finish oil change. What a pain to change oil without making a mess...

To manually reset the ecu is in section 5-b of the kohler service manual, but you might want to run it a bit 30 min. after you get the oil changed. One of the things the ecu does according to the manual, is check the voltage via the battery,if you had a bad batterie, could be your issue. Running it a bit should reset itself, O2 sensor etc. Idle adjustment should be 11-12 X rpm. via the adjustment knob.

Also, I use a fluid pump via the dip stick hole to extract the oil, helps keep the mess down.

To do that reset it says I have to remove alternator belt and any other load before doing this. Hoping I don't have to do this. I think its tough to get at that belt..

Don't mind that, hook up jumper/start and follow the rest.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Are you sure? haha Makes it sound like its pretty important in manual that you remove any type of load.

If your machine has an alt. you can pull wire/s from it if concerned as belt gonna suck hp and not power if wires are off, I never have but easy enough.

Are you allowing the fuel pump to cycle a few times before turning the engine over?

mine was doing this to but its a 2010. I found poor connections to one coil from the ECM, took abit of looking and the pin out to figure it out.
