I believe it was the small o ring.I did replace the o rings on the pistons while I had the caliper apart.The pistons/pucks seemed to extend and retract with out too much effort with the caliper halves apart.I think with the small o ring partially blocking the metering hole/channel the brake fluid was being restricted probably more so when hot.A bad brake hose that is collapsing internally would have the same symptoms by restricting the brake fluid.With the brake halves together and torqued that hole was most likely blocked pretty good.
