Not a big deal but if it works that way I might as well make the easy change if I can.
Well whatever works for you Iam sure it is a very simple thing to get the switch to feed in after you rewind the cable so that it is coming off the top of the spool I dont bother as I have another switch by the winch to aid in hookup of the plow as well as the handlebar mounted one and just rewire my brain as to which way to lift the plow.

Finally got s chance to check it out. By switching the cables connected to the winch it now allows for the 'IN' on toggle to top feed. Otherwise id have to press 'OUT' for it to top feed. So swapping the cable connections to winch does work so that it matches the toggle switch.

Check the book on your winch, most of them have a one way brake and should always be spooled off the bottom of the drum.

Thanks, I did think about that. My intention is to only use it that way for plowing only. It is an extremely easy change. Just the way the plow hooks up its a straight shot down and the line has dug into the bottom of the hawse fairlead bad when bottom spooled. It's really the only thing i'm using the winch for, if i take it to go trail riding I'll just re-spool it the correct way.

Good point Canadian Zuk I use a warn and have had no issue with it holding the plow in the up position with the cable spooled off the top,I certainly re spool it after the plow is parked for the season the darn cable just kept fraying and breaking using it spooled off the bottom with as much as i use the plow going to try the new rope deal next year spooled off the bottom but there is so much tension on the bend to go down to the plow re spooling is easy.
