Installing the windshield on my 2016 750hdi and it was going pretty well and then it happened. Picture by the book installment and final parts, windshield supports for folded down position and the windshield is not long enough to make it to the only location on the body to put the supports. Has anyone else had this issue? Windshield kit # 848-171 for the machine. Seems like it should be about 2" longer.
How did you locate the windshield supports? I believe I read where you have to install the windshield and then fold it down to see where the supports will hit before mounting the supports? This was for an older Avenger though so yours may be different.
Edit: Maybe I misread your post and you don't have the supports mounted yet? If not, check out this PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6d...5yZEk5eHc/view That shows the supports mounting at the corner of the screens for newer model Argos.

Reason: revised reply
Hey Mike, I got the install done. I contacted my dealer and he informed me about the mounting of the windshield support post and the locations. I was shocked to think Argo could make all the upgrades they did and couldn't put an extra 25 cents worth of tin on the upgraded screens to leave a descent landing for the windshield supports. Talk about a come on man moment, $25,000 for the machine $729.00 for a windshield and then you have to butcher it by straddling the screen with two out of three screws for mounting.
Hey Crossbowme I don't think glass is the way to go. I don't think it would be able to flex enough or be able to take much of a hit to shatter and it would be coming at the operator if it did take a hit.
I prefer the glass windshields because they don't scratch as easy. Plenty of hours on the one on my 2000 conquest and it has not broken. I'm hoping to find an older glass windshield to put on my newer machine.
Not sure what version instructions you got with your windshield, but Argo revised them in April 2016 to work on the new screens. Below is the latest version.
For around $230 you can have a windshield shop replace the Lexan with safety glass, they just pull out and use the Lexan as a template. Once the Lexan is scratched we have a few customers that opt for this but it does make the windshield heavier and prone to cracks if dropped on the windshield posts.

Adventure Argo, thanks for the information. The instructions that came with the windshield were for the older avengers and Mike directed me to the revised instructions on your site, my first search on your site showed the older screen instructions. Again thanks for the great feedback.
Anyway I can get just the windshield posts at a decent price? The factory Argo prices are absurd for these and I lost one post.
