cleaning a starter

how would you go about cleaning a starter off a Kohler engine,the one i have is getting brushes but the armature and all the windings are very dirty and dusty.what spry do i use to clean it and the magnets on the starter housing?

Hey Curtis, use an aerosol brake cleaner or electronic degreaseing spray. Should be available at any parts store
