no start on my 74 6x6
so been working away on the argo trying to get her running for the first time (for me)
I installed a 1-4psi Facet fuel pump with all new lines and fuel filter. drained the fuel tank and new fuel with oil.
the fuel is filling up the carb correctly and I have spark on both plugs so all good there. but no start even with quick start spray still nothing.
the plugs are getting wet big time from cranking.
I tried 100 times to dry cylinders brake clean dry the plugs re try and nothing. any thoughts?
since I am not using my factory fuel pump should the vacuum line from engine to stock fuel pump be unplugged and capped off?

If the plugs are getting wet big time then it is flooding. If it has been sitting a while it would be a good idea to pull the carb and clean it thoroughly. With spark, compression and fuel it's supposed to fire unless there is a timing issue. What type of engine?

What is the compression? If to low it won't fire at all.

so we got new plugs. removed carb from intake brake cleaned everything dry.
cranked over with no fuel just quick start straight into the intake and bam she runs :)
put carb back on and and this time with fuel factory pump not the electric. she runs but wants to shut off as if not good fueling. so today will retry with my facet pump. and see how she goes.
my engine is 2 stroke
comp test was about 150 each

don't forget to check fuel filter while your at it if there is one. good luck ..... j.b.

Sounds like the crankshaft seals may be bad

I would gravity feed it with separate fuel tank right to the carb. no fuel pumps, will help to narrow down the problem. I've never had a lot of luck running elect pump on older 2 cycles and a bad diaphragm in a stock pump can fill the block with fuel. will soak the plugs t'il the cows come home.
Elect low pressure pumps will many times push fuel past the needle N seat and flood em' also
