Does anyone have a convenient way of disabling an ATV to deter thieves? I must leave my Argo outside and in addition to chaining it up when I am away, I would like to disable the motor so it could...
I have a 2008 Avenger and I use both gears as appropriate. Low for steep hills, heavy loads and deep snow on trails. High on flat straightaways like frozen lakes, especially if they are slushy.
Interesting, that’s the solution to wind-up (removing the chains to the back axle) that Argo recommends. Should be worth a try.
My Argo is hopeless in the snow without tracks, but invincible with them. 6” of fresh snow and the Argo with just its tires floats on its belly pan and goes nowhere. I use the Argo rubber tracks in...
You nailed it. That was exactly the problem. I straightened out the nut so the corner was not hitting the frame and voila!
Thank you ArgoJim!...
I have the puller from Princess Auto too and used it on the #50 chain but mine is too small for the #60. I have ordered a larger puller from Amazon.
The adjustment bolts are down but I will check the square washers. Perhaps that’s why the manual says to remove the whole rear bolt. I have ordered a chain puller from Amazon and will tackle this job...
It looks like I will have to buy a chain tensioner or the Argo vice grips to finish the job. Thank you all for your help.
I checked the Argo part number and it?s the correct one. The transmission is as far down as it goes. However the manual does say to remove the power pack adjusting bolt completely to provide better...
I have completely frustrated myself trying to put the connecting link into a new idler chain.
The new chain has no slack and I cannot line the two ends up to insert the pins of the connecting link....
I definitely loose power and speed when turning especially on pavement. On a hill the machine almost stops. Stands to reason since you have to apply the brakes in order to steer. You can reduce the...
Glad to see you back up and running.
I just replaced my battery with a group 51 non-agm from Canadian Tire, fits perfectly.
The outer bearings have two grease fittings, one that leads to a tiny hole in the bearing that theoretically admits grease into the rollers and a second that leads to a chamber on the outside of the...
I get this as well. The open differential sends power to the side with the less resistance. Sometimes you can overcome this by steering to the spinning side briefly. This applies the steering brake...
Haliburton here, bemoaning the lack of trails that have not been bought up and closed.
If the wet snow is more than a few inches deep the tires dig in, the belly pan of the Argo takes all the weight and you are stuck. I use standard Argo rubber tracks in all kinds of snow and slush and...
Before you replace the solenoid try running a ground wire directly to one of the bolts holding the starter on. I was having intermittent starting issues until I did this and now it always works. Good...
Thanks for your suggestions. Here is what I bought, an 80” x12’ aluminum utility trailer.

Also good for storing the Argo if you do not have a garage.
