What does "I/C" mean when describing older Argos?
PERFECT!!!!!! Thanks so much guys. That's EXACTLY what I needed. It looks like I can fabricate most if not all of that. I need to get my welder out of mothballs.
Hello all,
I recently bought an old craftsman 46 inch dozer blade that I want to modify and mount on my Argo for snow plowing. Does anyone have any have any photographs of how the OEM plow hooks...
Your machine shop is a bit cramped looking... What did you use to paint the body? I have the same original orange colour and think it's funky, but have not found any paint that will stick...
I don't know it I would worry too much about it. If you think about it the brakes are composed of material designed to wear away. Your Drums/Rotors can last a LONG time so long as brake pads are...
Mike,
Thanks for the link. I don't seem to have any luck with searching the forums. It sounds like I've got some options to think about.
All,
Anyone out there make their own Argo snow plow? I've got two possible machines to use for snow plowing this winter. One is my argo and the other is my old John Deere "Round Fender" 110...
That's the same boat I'm in. My Argo is an 83, with the smaller tires and no axle extensions. $1300 is a lot of money for me though b/c I'm pretty much city bound :-( If you NEED it though it...
Great video! Thanks for sharing it!
Update - JB Weld lied! They said it would be OK in the gasoline but after only a day the old girl started running rough so I tore the carb down and found the JB weld had failed and was sluoughing...
I tore down the carb off the M18 Kohler in my Argo and was suprised to see just how simple they are. Everything looked fine except for the float which was gas logged. No wonder it was running rich....
I've been a fan of the synthics in other vehicles, so I think I'll take your advice.
In the 1970s my uncle was back in Ont. in the middle of no where fishing w/o a license. Conservation officers landed in a float plane and nailed him!
BCSteve Thanks for the info. Sounds like I read something wrong. It wouldn't be the first time! Where do you take Argo? I've not really had mine out yet. A buddy recommends Chipmunk Creek near...
That's one heck of a commute!
From what I've read here yes. The tranny uses gear oil.
If you use the wrong battery you won't be able to use your winch properly so take your time finding the right battery. You don't want to have to buy two!
Hi there - I'm a noob myself but can answer the dipstick question - yours is missing the handle that was brazed to the top. I suspect someone tried to unscrew it using the loop handle (instead of a...
I'm in the lower mainland so anywhere I go I'll have people stacked ontop of me so the insurance is a must. I'm also going to use it on the water so I have to register it for boating purposes.
Ah! Thanks guys.:adore: When I read about the ATF I thought it sounded off b/c my Argo is an 83 and the tranny grinds like an old Studebaker. Nothing automatic about it. I'll run the ATF/90 weight...
