Thanks, apart from the screw all other has been adjusted by manual direction. I’ll move screw forward to touch.

Stop screw backed to point where throttle shaft doesn’t touch. I wondered if governor weights are not fully returning? Thanks for reply.

Good one! I used a big bloody screwdriver but like yours better. I bent the tab you said to get the no load top end rpm to 4000. Still won’t go faster when in gear so I will go back to the governor...

Yes I expect vacuum leak but what symptom. Put homemade gasket in and idle has dropped a little but so has top end speed. Will now fiddle with adjustment tab.

I had a stripped bolt on the engine and had to remove the carby to repair. Then I noticed…..no gaskets on either side of carby. Will ring mechanic who cleaned and overhauled my engine.

What is your idle speed when you shift? The lower the better.
