Cut angle iron pieces the length of the bed drill holes for straps. Bolt each to the mold rail of the tub and you are set

You have to remove the firewall and reach in to it. There isn't much else to remove. It's tight but you can do it.
I believe you need to loosen the back base bolt and top support pry up and tighten then adjust on the front
Don't over tighten and make sure to inspect the teeth. I let one go too long and tore my teeth up had to replace the rotor. Then I over tightened and I think it caused my granny bearing to go out....
Looks good. I just installed a battery tender terminal on my battery any feed it through a hole Indrilled in the cover. I can't believe I never had one before! It took almost three days to top off...
You can just add a batter cutoff switch under the seat. They are cheap on Amazon with the cable kit and take less than an hour to install. You can also get them at the dealer but you will spend $70...
I just got a set but haven't used them. They are well built and ship in flat rate boxes so it good For us AK folks

I put a yellow top in my bigfoot and it has worked great. I will upgrade my 2011 HDi when needed. They are proud of them though.

I would take a look at the brakes. Sounds like one is dragging causing it to pull. The noise you hear is most likely the chain tensioner. It's easy to check and adjust. The other thing to look at...
