    Tracks vs tires

    I have stock tracks on my buffalo and was wondering about the pors and cons of keeping them on vs just running the tires. I assume the tracks will be better in the snow and soft mud but for general usage should I just be running the tires? Will the tracks ware out? Will soft deep (2 plus feet) powder snow stop a buffalo with tracks? With tires?

    Do you have the full 15" wide rubber tracks or the metal grousers with two belts? Tires in much over 8" of snow are usless. I've driven Max's with rubber tracks in several feet of snow. You have to be carefull climbing and turning. I prefer tires if I'm in area that won't get me stuck. Tracks give better ride on the tussocks.

    They are the factory tracks. I did not measure but they are about 15 inches wide with the metal brackets to hold them around the tires. Not too sure what you mean by the two belts.

    There are several styles of factory track. Two styles of track use a skidoo track with little aluminum tire guides riveted on the inside. One of them has a waffle pattern and the other is an agressive camoplast bar lug track. The other style he is describing are made of steel bars (grousers) conected together with a 3-4" wide stripe of conveyor belting on both sides, think of a rope ladder made with belts instead of ropes.

    Is it this style?
