Superwinch X2 Controller ~ Not sure where to buy replacement

    Hi Guys,

The winch doesn't work via the switch, but does when I apply 12v directly to the winch itself.

Pretty sure the controller is the problem . I'm having major issues identifying the type and where to buy a replacement. All i find is the bigger solenoid types online.

I'll attach a pic of the part if anybody has a part # or anything or where to buy that would be greatly appreciated.

    ThanksIMG_3988.jpgIMG_3987.jpgIMG_3988.jpgIMG_3987.jpg

Why don't you just fit something like this with a double acting spring toggle switch mounted on the dash ?

I can't find anything like that on there website. I sent them an email with a pic attached hoping for a response.. I find most of these big manufacturers aren't that great at replying to emails from the small guy.
Which was why I posted here first.

That particular controller has been out of production for some time. You could go with another style or make up the dual starter solenoid assy. that replaced it fairly easy.

I do have a used one if you want to go that route.

An alternative is to use a universal winch relay/controller (something like Jim's suggesting). I'm using one of these on a heavy machine and tested it to (what I thought would be) its limits at Ashtabula last weekend. No problems on a couple nearly dead-pulls that got the winch pretty warm.

They're stone simple and cheap. You only need to wire in a SPDT switch if you're lacking one.

This is precisely what I would do.
