Question early 80's argo making rattling noise while turning.

Hi I am new to this site, and my argo makes a rattling noise in the front end while turning left. It only does this sound in forward, not reverse. I think my argo is early 80's. It came with the 16hp techumseh engine and it does not have hydraulic steering. It has vents on the side and none on top.

Please help me and tell me the exact year.

are you sure the rattle is not the sound of chain skipping on the front sprockets? and are you left or right side gas filler neck? is there a wood stop on the dash for the levers to rest against?

I agree, sounds to me like it's time for a chain change (which usually leads to a sprocket change or two as well.) The chains stretch over time and start to jump teeth on the sprocket which wears out the sprocket and the chain)

Interested to learn what the significance of left or right hand gas fill and the wood block on dash represents....

the gas fill location and wood on dash wall represents age, as many old school Argo guys like myself know Argo made many little changes through the early years up untill the Magnum model
