Revised Avenger Dash, Switch Panels, Gauges and Hand Controls…
Attaached are some pictures of newly designed switch panels, additional gauges motorcycle hand controls, turn signals, hazard circuit, brake lights, etc. recently installed in our Avenger.
The switch panels are 3/16” CNC machined 6061 aluminum, powder coated in satin poly black. Switches are soft rubber texture Carling dual illumination in red. Some pretty neat circuits were added using the switches: Two separately fused bilge pump switches (left side/right side Rule 500 Series) configued “auto (sensing)/off/on,” a brake fan switch configured “off/auto/on” to allow post ride “after running” with ignition off and turning off while idling, a three way headlight switch configured “off/parking/parking+headlights,” auxillary battery switch controlling heavy duty solenoids configured “primary battery, both, auxillary battery, ) winch activate, heater, wiper, plus some spare positions.
Everything is fused, including adding a 3rd factory style fuse block to the existing two section block, and switches were installed using soldered connector blocks to allow plug style disconnecting to easily service or replace.
Circuits are wired to not draw power at rest/in default positions, and to default to factory settings on power failure. For instance, if all power fails any relays for fans, primary battery, etc., default to factory connection settings.
Matching gauges for Fuel and Oil Pressure were also added. The hour meter was moved to the area above the VIN plate on the left side and the choke pull was moved to the panel under the dash to the left of the steering column.
The goal was increased functionality while maintaining a factory installed appearance--the brake fan, batteries, lights and other switches can all be controlled more effectively.
