new here and have some questions

    Hello,

I am brand new to these forum and I come seeking some input and information. I live in Southern Illinois. I am considering buying an argo for duck hunting. Where I hunt is only about a foot deep water and I think the mud is bottomless. My question is how hard are these things to hang. I am looking at an 8 wheel model with rubber tracks. Also in deep water how do they react say with a 9.9 outboard on them. Are they stable? I fear getting this thing buried and not being able to get it out. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    thanks

    Travis

In soft mud, tracks are your best option to reduce the exerted PSI of the machine. This way, it won't sink as bad, that's why 4 wheelers can never go where we do in our amphibs. An outboard on your machine wouldn't cause it to become unstable in the water. Just load the machine balanced and don't exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight carrying capacity. Take a look at this video of a Max IV (which are not as stable in the water as most other machines because of the engine that is mounted up above the transmission).

Most tracks will not swim well, but people seem to be happy with the Adair tracks.....do a search for them, there are many threads and I'm sure you can find one describing similar conditions to yours. Here's one that might help http://www.6x6world.com/forums/tire-...ir-tracks.html
