    Argo chain adjustment

Mine has a bolt attached to the motor plate between the brake linkage. I loosen off the bolts holding the motor plate and I can move it back and forth with that bolt to tighten the chains.

this machine has had changes made and im putting things back in order cause this bozo guy who had it before didnt know ****.for the brake cams,he built the cam areas up with like 6011 rod.it was worn,so i had this rod they use on snow plow blades and u know thats hard stuff.built it back up with that.even 308 nickle rod will work.he had a 340 yamaha cooled by fins on the flywheel.thats no good.i put a tahatsu motor from a rupp thats forced fan in it.stuff like that you know

Ok, i just replaced the double roller 40 chains on my 70s 6 wheeled argo. There are 3 bolts that have 3/4 heads on them. The first is under the engine, in a sloted hole. The other two are just on the other side of the fire wall directly under the break pads (towards the tub). (i pulled mine to make it easier to do and if you want to get the fire wall out, take the adjusters for the breaks all the way off, that makes it easier)

There is also a 3/8 (9/16 head) bolt through the frame directly under the fire wall. You can use this to adjust the engine and trans all at once, therefor adjusting the chain tension from the trans to the jack shaft.
