    1989 argo 6x6 with tracks

Just brought home my second argo. This is a 6x6 with 13inch plastic tracks and a winch. It has the single cylinder teusmeth engine. Also comes with a windsheild and wiper motor. Sounds loud now. The guy said that he had to replace the motor mount bushings and when he was taking the engine out he had to cut the exhaust to ge tthe motor out. Now I have to find a way to drown the exhaust or suffer going deaf (as if I was not already deaf according to the wife...lol)

He said that he use to run the tracks all the time. I was thinking that this could be excessive strain on the motor and hard on the tracks. The terrain that I will be running varies from hard pack trails to mud to swamps. My question is would you recommend taking the tracks off and keep them for winter or would you leave them on?

Planning on letting the kids drive the 6x6 while I get to drive the 8x8 conquest....an extra machine to pull each other out of sticky places....

Took the old baby out for a test run tonight. Went down an old railway track. Must have went about 15-20 km. Rides smooth and has some get up and go for an older tecusmeh engine. Left the tracks on tonight. Will take it out and try it in the swamps tomorrow before I take it moose hunting on the weekend.

Sounds like you are already having fun. Let us know how it does in the swamp.
