Looks like very late T or HT, HT has double chains. There is a serial/model plate behind the sticks in photos.
On a side note the other machine is an early T in the 74 to pre 78 era as sticks and gas tank on left.

Thanks for your reply. One argo has sticks on the right, the other looks the same but sticks are on the left. Both have single drive chains. they both had the same engine, a 16hp ohc Tecumseh. I replaced 1 engine with a Vanguard 16hp.

Morning Steve,
The early machine is hard to tell a year and if it has a serial number it will either be a aluminum sticker or metal tag on the firewall, the early body style was used from 71 to early 80's. The First years were ABS like mine, the first year Tecumsehs had a metal box fitted into the flat 2 stroke hood to house the engine rocker box, the early poly ones had the gas tank and steering on the left, next gen had a formed hood with a long offset hood scoop. The sticks and gas tank moved over in about 78, the serial tag was metal for sure and the raised vents may have started.
Your later machine was the last version that was available in 85 for sure, that body has the raised intake and exhaust vents on top, the exhaust grating on the side, higher styled dash with the inner gauge and switch recesses, and the Kohler style hood. The serial tag is behind the sticks on the dash.

The T was the Tecumseh model and the HT was the heavy version with double chains.

I had a 78 that I loved and were supposed to pick up an 79 or 80 right quick.Personally I've always liked the look of and have wanted the 85ish light tan or sand colored machine that had a very short run.

Thanks for the info ArgoJim. I posted more pics of the plates on both the firewalls. Both Argos were made at same place in Ontario.
