Usually heat is developed from bad connections. Overload will burn the fuse but a poor connection can arc and make a hot spot. Clean the fuse holder and fuse , make sure new fuse is tight. The charging system runs through this fuse and a low battery will work it constantly also.

Hi, I had a 97 conquest with the same problem. The 30 amp fuse would burn the blades of in the fuse block. Usually in the middle of know where. I had an on going problem with mine. The fuse holder was faulty I would carry spare fuses. My machine would quit so I would just wiggle the fuse and away it would go. I tried to tighten the fuse holder but this did not help I just learned to live with it. The best way may be to cut the wires clear of the fuse block for that fuse and install a remote fuse holder Good luck, Paul
