Has anyone tried using Carbon Fiber axles? Seems if they have the strength to support the weight and stay rigid and still flex over rough terrain. The weight savings would be great

did some searchine online, and the largest diameter CF rod I could find was 3/4". It was $360 for a 7 foot stick. If you could find 1" I would expect to pay $450++ for 7 feet of it. enough to do about (4) 18" axles with some scrap left over. that's a pretty pricey experiment in my book!
