Baker Hill 7000 Transmission rebuild parts list

    Hey there guys,

Does someone have an exploded diagram for the Baker Hill 7000 trans internals? I am planning a rebuild this weekend.

Also Does someone have a list of the bearings and any other replacement parts that I can replace while i am in there. I would like to order these now so I can bet it back together quickly.

These can be found in the big honkin' 70 page manual uploaded here: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/conte...r-manuals.html about halfway down the page. I don't have a list of any replaceable parts, but any of the internal bearings should be stamped with an ID and can be cross referenced if the original supplier isn't around. I forget the ID on the outer bearings that support the main shaft in the cradle, but they're easily found. It seems that they're about the first to go.

    Good luck!

Did you ever get it apart? I am having trouble with mine. How do you get the pieces off the shaft that the outer disks ride on?

They'll come off with the inside disc. Hang the transmission from the inside disc and use a soft drift or hammer to drive the shaft down. Make sure there's a wooden block or something under the transmission to catch it when it comes free. I can't take credit for this procedure- it was Larry W that showed me, but I've done it quite a few times and it works great. I used to cut the races off with a die grinder: also works, but it takes a lot longer and you go broke buying new bearings every time.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
