I'm thinking fiberglass is (almost) the worst thing to use....

First find out if your tub is made of Poly (HDPE) or ABS. How big is the hole and where is it located?

You need some scrap abs and some acetone to make goo with. Mix the two and let them sit for a few days making sure to give a good stir every once on a while. You want a thick pudding mixture. Clean your damaged area with acetone several times the day before and of your repair. Give one more acetone cleaning and then poor/smear your patch on. Let it cure for at least a week, and you will be good to go. Lego's are abs if you can't find a scrap piece of body. Do not use any other material than abs goo/fiberglass mat soaked in abs goo to fill the hole. Overtime fiberglass or any non abs material will delaminates from the abs. Even subtle changes in temperature will cause the different materials to expand and contract at different rates resulting in cracking and separation.

If it is an st it's abs. If it's poly, then it would be a Superchief, Tomahawk, or Spirit. The st's are 6 chain machines. All poly bodies came with a 4 chain frame. Some abs machines such as the chief, thunder chief, and wild wolf were 4 chainer a as well.

Yes abs is easiest to make goo and patch that way. Poly would have to be welded and is impervious to acetone.
