    Build thread: amphicat/attex restoration completed

2 months ago i acquired my dad's 6x6. It was untouched for over 25 years uncovered in the yard. Back story is that it used to be all amphicat but it would break axles all the time so one day he bought his buddies attex that went over a water fall and used the frame and drivetrain from it. Guessing it was a 208/tt cuz it has 3 bolt axle flanges,7/8 axles, baker hill 6000 and I'm told it was a 8hp too. He put the 16hp 2 stroke from amphicat on the attex frame and baker hill trans and put it into the amphicat tub.

    Today
The 16hp is locked down. troublesome motor in the day so no reason to fix it. Frame is rotten, bearings are blown, tub has holes and cracks all over. Where do I even start?!?!

Well fortunately the restoration is nearly done.
    -22hp predator swapped in
    -repaired the frame
    -new chain and tensioners
    -rear winch plate added
    -new wheels and rawhide tires
    -tub was repaired
    -all led lights now
    -new wiring harness

Pics will be loaded tomorrow evening

I can't wait to see your pictures. In some of the early Attex files, there's a large blueprint drawing of an Amphicat. It'll be interesting to see how nicely the Attex frame sits inside the tub, and know just how close the dimensions are.
