    Attex Superchief. The Restore begins.

Well, a little while back I had E-mailed a local member about a S.C. he had for sale. I figured it had sold when I didn't hear back, but this past weekend I got a cool phone call. Two hours later I was there and it was a deal. Of course things always (almost anyways) look and sound better until you get there, but while it needs work, it's not bad either. I've got a puncture and bulge in the tub to fix and a LOT of bolt-holed in the upper to fill. Carb needs a total rebuild, and I need to re-wire probably from scratch. I need an idler sprocket/bearing for the rear chain (Bearing gone, sprocket now spinning on inner race, sans balls. Throttle cable, seat cushions, and a gas cap, outer bearings I'm unsure of, but axles are worn inside the wheel adapters, so axles too. Fortunately I have a bunch of the parts from the Colt that will work, axles are easy to fab, and I'll just need to figure a few other things out. I want this to go quick, I know it won't , but I'll still try. These pics are from the night I got it home. I knew I shouldn't but also that I had to. If Don never let me drive one of his S.C.s I may have been able to resist, but too late

    Great looking SuperChief John!

I'm missing where all the bolt-holes are. That second photo looks pretty clean, and the back doesn't look bad at all. Are they of a consistent diameter?
Nobody seems to believe that these things multiply, but the evidence is pretty clear. Perhaps we can get a group-medical rate if we all suffer from the same problem.

Love the restores. You'll do a great job on it no matter how long it takes...& it doesn't matter how long it takes.

Congratulations on the SC, John! If I'm even a little bit to blame for your addiction, my work is done. You can pick up gas caps cheap at Home Depot (lawn equipment). Nice machine!

John that is a great looking machine!!! Get her ready for the April ride at Busco, we want to see it. Is this to be a original or a racer? Either way THAT is going to be a nice machine.
