Thanks! I'll give that a shot while I have her striped.
I'll try to be more clear with my questions in the future.

    Plastic Welder- YES or NO?

    Hey Ya'll,
Im thinking of purchasing a plastic welder off E-Bay for some tub repairs on my attex 208/tt. I'm sure it would be useful more than once in the future.
Of cousre its an abs tub with some tears and a couple small holes.
I was just wondering with all of the combined experience here what the pro's and con's are and if this is a good idea.
    Thanks!

    Project attex underway!!!

Started the process of disassembling my 208/tt today.
everythig went pretty smooth except some of the axle removals but gotter done! I have sense cleaned the frame for sanding & painting and de-greased the Briggs.
May need a few minor parts but nothing major as of yet.
I have listed a few pics below.
I would like some feedback on something Im thinking of doing (good idea or bad idea?) After I patch the holes in the tub with my plastic welder & make an attempt at a HDPE skid-plate I was thinking of taking it to a shop here and have the inside lower half of the tub done with the spray on Rhino liner.
What ya'll think? Will it actually help or just be an expensive cosmetic add-on?
    Thanks!

great progress in a little time! i'm a bit jealous, my first attex took forever to tear down. every axle had to be cut and pressed out of the sprocket tubes...
your lower tub is pretty rough looking, but should be fixable with a combination of plastic welding and abs goo. not sure on the bed liner, it would certainly help with waterproofing, but getting it to stick to the plastic might be an issue. it seems that the only way paint or coatings will really stick to a plastic body is if you don't want them too looks great and keep us updated on your progress

    cool find!!!

    Looks pretty good too.
The bottom tub looks bad but it can be fixed. Just takes time with the abs goop to cure. Like weeks.

Thanks for sharing all the great pictures of it.

    Couple more pics

Just a few more of a little of the progress.
Still waiting for the plastic welder and HDPE to come in and then the abs goo work starts.

Interesting choice of color. Dont believe I have ever seen one blue. It will blend in with all those max's that are suppose to be so rare.

    Looks good.

Just a suggestion but if you have a welder, you could reinforce the frame with some extra braces. The paper thin inner rails are fragile and anything you can do to reinforce them near the inner bearings wont hurt. If your stock threaded clips on the axle bearing bolts are gone or ruined weld in some 1/4-20 nuts on the inside of the outer frame rail. Makes it a lot easier to install and remove the axles. Expeciallly the lower one which is a differant design but it rust it will spin and rip out. Its a hard one to get to. Make sure there lined up in the right spot buy stalling the axle/bearing on the frame before welding.

Also if you want a hitch, good time to make the mount on the frame for it to attach to.

    Thanks

Thanks I do appreciate the input.
I do have all the original clips and all the lower nuts seem to be in great condition. The welds on this machine have surprisingly withstood time very well.
I do believe a hitch will be needed because Im sure more than once I will need to be pulled from the muck.
Was going Hunter green but too many already so just to stand out a bit Im going with the dark blue. Basically just trying to have some fun with it so that it doenst turn into work instead of fun.

No, not for that. For pulling quads out. It also works for pulling a 1998 argo response 8x8 out too.
    Sorry Dave.
