So far it would seem that, other than Don's LT/SC, the N in the serial number may denote Chapparal 484.
Once we get some more up here, we may find the keys to the Attex serial system yet.
Starting an Attex vin thread for those interested, pretty easy since the frames are stamped for the year frame was made. It will be interesting to learn if the letters denote model or engine so try to be precise.
Note; the machines may have been completed or sold at a later date.:

Superchief right hand side rear outer frame rail is stamped KN 10497 with a number 78 stamped a little past and slightly above the "serial Number" the base numbers 10497 is a little questionable as the third digit in the 4 is not very distinguishable, that said its my best guess the machine is yellow upper black lower as to the year not sure I see that in the list KN seems to be with 76 model year there is no numbers in front of the serial on this one so maybe 76.NCT

I have a Attex SuperChief 1976 with a running G50b engine and a spare G50b engine with it the original just need new rings for the original G50 engine I am in WV and looking to sell my Attex for a reasonable price before I go ahead an sell it on Ebay I provide Bill of sale only will be selling both the CHAPPAREL G50B 45HP eginges with it one is missing the cooler fan and original barb. also the old pistons are still good in the original engine and have new pistons a rings one size over so any one can make me a cash offer and must pick up or ship them self. you can email me awisewon@netscpe.net with a offer body has one small hole inside 2 drain holes in lower back before someone before me got the pump needed which works to.and it has one bad tire but its held air and run over 8 yrs now been garage kept and not really run to often in fact the engine in it has less than 50 hrs on it and it had been just rebuilt before I bought it that cam off a snowmobile that had been crashed and frame bent on it. but that engine is installed backwards in the Attex the way the pipes fit in the snow mobile rather than turn the head cylinders around to fit the attex exhaust set up I just made new exhaust pipes to come around and attach to muffler. and the frame has surface rust lightly over all this attex is you could rate as 90% in good shape as was when bought new missing stickers No tire kickers please I know it will sell quick on Ebay for a darn good price.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.

I’m really new to the 6X6 world but have a lot of experience with 2 and 4 wheels. I have what I’m thinking is the 1st gen Attex. The serial number is printed on the dash sticker. It’s a 300SD and is still legible as S/N1312. I assume this is one of the very early ones. I’m working now to get it running.
