jack it up and check for bad bearings

  2. #12
Ok, how do I check the bearings? Am I looking for side play or something else?

  3. #13
up and down play yea,any play means get new outer bearings most likely

So what kind of chain am I looking for one eBay or Amazon? How much cheaper are we talking? My local Argo guys quoted me 700+ install for all the chains. Install looks manageable and at 90$ an hour I'll save 500$ bucks atleast

Got to give a shoutout for our sponser argo adventure. I did a lot of shopping around for new chains, and they had the best price and great customer service.

    Update

I got all the work done finally, and I will be trying it out tomorrow. Work done is as follows

    New chains
    Strip and paint rims
    New tires
    Update to LED Head lights
    Rebuild left brake caliper

Doesn't sound like much compared to what i have read here, but it seemed like a lot for a first timer. I also have a winch I rebuilt that I have yet to install.
