I have a Max II and love it, but don't know much about Argo model years.
He mentioned it doesn't have the original motor, it was swapped out with a tecumseh.
Sounds like with it sitting for 4 months, it would just need a carb cleaning and run like a champ. Floats fine on water, no cracks or leaks. And all the tires still hold air. Sounds like a steal to me? What do these units usually go for? Any help or comment is appreciated! Thanks!
the year seems about right, it has mechanical brakes not hydraulic.has tracks and plow.sems to have a skid plate!...that is a bonus! if you look at the pictures you can see the floor pans are removed,if they we left out the whole time the frame may have rust and water may have got in the bearings suggesting he had them removed for a long time which i hop not. ask him what engine was in it before. if it was a 2 stroke 440 it is older than 82. but the Tecumseh 16 was stock for that Argo at that time. if you can get the serial# off him you can call Argo or contact someone on here about it who can tell you. more people will help you here who are more comfortable with knowing the years and names of the older Argos. hope this helped!
personally i think that 1990 and up are the best since the engines are better and do not have pins that hold the sprocket to the axles. i think its 1990 or maybe e 1988 im not sure but since the upgrade from roll pins they are much more reliable and easier for the operator! yours has roll pins unless he ungraded to splined shafts.
