    JLO 252 Engine Problem

I recently acquired a 1972 Attex Crazy Colt it had been sitting around 4 a while, I drained the gas and wired it up. A couple of days ago it would run 4 about 10 minutes get hot and shut off. Today I go to run it and it started and ran 4 about 10 seconds and died. Its almost like starting it and running it with the choke on and it floods but the choke is not on. I need some advice in what direction I should go to track down the problem.

Is the choke adjusted right? If it is one of those choke systems where the cable pulls up on the brass part with some holes in it, it could need adjusting. If its not right it could be running with the choke on even if its pushed in.
I build my machines on a budget. If you can't respect that you can kiss my Attex

Check for spark when it dies.....the coil could be failing when it gets hot.

I took the carb off last night and when I spray carb cleaner in the fuel inlet it sprays right back out. I removed the float and the neadle that sits under the float. I soaked it in carb cleaner last night so I'll see if that clears it. Any other ways to clear it? Am I correct assuming that it's clogged?
