    fuel problem

Hi I have a 2001 max II with a 16 hp briggs and it fills the crank case up with fuel so I bought a brand new carb for it bk a mechanic said that the needle seat was bad. Well it is still filling up with fuel. What can be causing this?

Usually a ruptured diaphragm in the fuel pump drawing fuel into tube in valvecover. Test by applying vacuum to the pulse line ( from valvecover). It should hold vacuum. They usually leak gas out the vent holes on top or bottom but not always a very plugged air filter will cause the engine to run rich and dilute the oil with fuel.
