My machine is up and running but I still need to know how to wire in a engine kill switch it has a TECUMSEH HH160 engine with solid state ignition ....there are only 3 wires going to the motor other then the starter wires....I would like to setup a toggle switch on the dash ....but need some input on how to do it...I dont want to screw up my solid state ign or burn it out

As Buggyman wrote there should be 3 wires in the main harness plug 2 yellow one green? The green wire should have no power to it or from it with engine running, if that is the case try grounding it if engine shuts down there you go. DO NOT HOOK POWER TO IT or ignition unit will become dead.

I just checked Q's machine to be sure, and it looks like the group has it right: The two larger yellow wires go to the Tecumseh regulator and the smaller gauge wire (this one's black) is the ignition kill. There should be a three-wire connection on the regulator: The two from the engine charge coil and one that goes to battery positive. Hope this helped.

Going with Don's explanation will be best, the info I gave was for the later engines with the regulator mounted to the blower housing and it sounds as if yours is externally mounted.
You want to be at the plug nearest the engine to find the mag wire.

Goin to get my ohm meter out and do some checking haven't had much time this week to work on my machine....my voltage regulator is mounted to the tub frame not the motor....I also need to move my exhaust muffler cause someone ran it thru the side of the tub between the 2nd and 3rd wheel on the left side (big hole for water to enter) plus a few other minor holes in the tub....trying to get everything fixed so I can use the swamp fox this weekend to hunt deer in a very swampy plot we hunt
