    Rotax 343

I’m checking my future power plant out. It’s a Rotax 343
I’m getting no spark. This is a sled engine, there is power going to coils but no spark
Is there maybe a control unit box? We checked the wire harness that would plug into the sled. With test light and turning over the light flashes.. so either
There is maybe a ignition control box that was hooked to sled? Or I have bad coils?
    Any ideas??
    Thanks
    Don

If it's point ignition, try cleaning the points with nail file or similar.

Yea, it’s points. We checked with a test light and when cranking engine
The light flashes. I’m assuming points are good. Same pulse to coil just no
fire. Hopefully be able to take the thing apart tomarrow to inspect points.

Maybe the condenser, test the 1st coil to make sure it's not bad.

I had a bad plug. Lol
It was sparking down thru the porcelain. I do have
A 377 that has the cdi, I’m thinking of changing it over.
But, then again I could use that engine, it needs rings.
I just don’t want to over power it. I think the 340 is 28-32hp
And the 377 is almost 40hp. I just want something to trail ride.

Bentvalve I'm not sure what kind of trails you ride on but ive taken my 2 strokers on a few. It's not that they wont do it but a 4 stroke motor will be way more user friendly on trails especially if you have steep hills and deep mud. just a freindly FYI. either way ya go you will have a ball in that machine once you get the hang of it. good luck and keep us posted.
