Argo Frontier 23HP B&S Bad Starter

Is it possible to get the starter changed out , without having to take the engine completely out of the Hull ? If possible any tricks , suggestions ?

    Thanks

Yes, I did that on my Frontier last year. Its awkward, and extremely tight in there, you'll have to work mostly by touch. A light and a small mirror helps for general reference, then its back to feeling your way through it.

I never did understand why Argo never installed the stronger starter right at the factory, they have known of the problem for over 10 yrs

Well that will teach me to look at the manuals ... Got the old starter out , very much like when we changed out a starter on my friends Bigfoot except the Frontier has the regulator that once off and out of the way you can get at and even feel/see what has to be taken apart .. 12mm ,10mm sockets and a 6mm sheet metal screw .. The Argo Manual starts with it would be easier to get at if you take the engine out first ... lol riiiiiigggghhhhhttt ... so new starter has been purchased , need a new battery as that went flat also ... and hopefully it will be back to the trails once it's all back in place .. .. Thanks Noel ,, All ..
