Could be, but the D/stock is already running 20-tooth sprockets (I think? Could be wrong...) on the finals. Heck, it tops out at about 47, and that's with a dinky 440 and no real other mods. The Chap should put out nearly 10 more horse than my ULII-02. That ought to be enough to push it to 48. The D/stock is really quite stock after-all. That Superchief is just a fine sounding machine. Listen carefully, and you can hear it pull from the bottom end. I don't think he's topped out when he passes the camera.

It looks and sounds great! Do us all a favor and count the number of teeth on your front sprockets if you get a chance. I'm betting it's 20 or 22. If it's higher, we're not speaking . I don't know what the lowest factory-installed number of teeth is/was. It's cruising, for sure. Constantly awaiting more videos...

My two Chiefs have a 22-20 setup. My newest machine, a Super Chief, has bigger rear sprockets so I'm guessing it's a 26-20 ratio.

I'm not sure but I think every machine I own has 20 on the front sprocket. I've always thought the gearing reduction happened on the sprockets being fed by the T-20 (middle and rear) and the small sprocket on the middle axle and the front axel were slaves to everything else (the teeth on the T-20 and the sprockets it feeds).

Either that or it's just coincidence that all my machines have the same number of teeth on their front sprockets....well, at least the Colt and the two Chiefs do.

Good point George. I don't know where they changed the gear ratio. I have seen a couple different front sprockets on machines. I'll have to double check the D/stock again to see what the rear tooth number is. Hmph. Maybe I should just throw a Chap. in there. :o(
