I'm fairly sure, if it's a Hustler, it is HDPE.....and, as such, I'm also pretty sure nothing sticks well.....it may be on there, now, but, unless it's something "new", it'll eventually let...

if it's a Hustler, I think the tub is HDPE, and, if so, nothing will really "stick" well........

I'd really suggest welding it.

on so many levels, Hustlers are my favorite.............

plastic welding isn't that hard.
a good soldering iron, and, some donor plastic as "rod"......do some experimenting and then dive in.
It's a lot like gas welding metal........

revving and dying seem to indicate to lean........and, if you say the old carb needed full choke to run......again, lean.
seems maybe an air/vacuum leak?

I see the new carb runs normally, but,...

although, if the stock bearings lasted this many years.....they might be ok?
