Thanks for posting that Copper Ridge video. That was some cool footage.
Roger, I checked out the helmet cam on the website you posted, and it looks like the one I,ll be buying in the near future, when I want to record some high quality, amphib, video action.
That link I posted is to the front page of that site, and the content keeps getting updated.. I'm not recommending any particular camera model, just the site in general. Looks like they do have some nice ones on the front review page now.
Rock Doctor's setup is down to a few hundred, I think.
Roger,
The video cam that I am interested in, on the website you posted, is the V.I.O POV.1. I did a web search for the V.I.O POV.1 and watched a short video clip recorded with the POV.1, and I was very impressed with the picture quality. The video quality is crisp and sharp, almost DVD quality. The next morning I called "helmet cam central" and asked about the video I watched on "their" website, ( this was in addition to another website I,d already visited )and was told that the video I watched on their website was not of the POV.1, but of another web cam. The salesman told me that the video quality of the POV.1 is even better than the one I watched on their website! The salesman also told me, of all the video cams they had tested so far, the POV.1 had the highest video quality and with the best features for off road usage. I,m impressed! The V.I.O POV.1 is rated the # 1 leader in helmet video cams. With this video camera you could capture some outstanding amphibious action. Price is $849.99
The V.I.O. helmet cam itself : Video is recorded in DivX or MPEG 4 format at 720 x 480 pixel resolution. The internal 1GB memory is able to store up to 40 minutes worth of video, while you can expand that further with the help of a 2GB SD memory card
VIO. is a rebranding effort from Viosport and brother company Viotac. Viosport is a top notch helmet camera manufacturer with great products and excellent customer service. Viotac is targeted to Military/Police/Fire and in fact, many of the POV1’s specifications and design features were requirements derived from Viotac customers.
So, unless a better helmet cam comes along, this is the one I,ll be buying in 2008

Here's the video of Greg testing the traction of the new Argo tires on his 1978 Max II at the 2007 CPATVA Rodeo.

Man, those tires sounded like super swampers on pavement and it looks like traction wasn't a problem
Great save by the way Greg! And George, I copied your post to the CPATVA thread too.
