    ? about the Jet Pump

When I bought my first Hustler in 1972 or 73, it was fibreglass, but without the Jet Pump. I didn't think I needed it, now I wonder how it was powered and by what?

I have a nice original jet pump for sale if you're interested in it. There is a small sprocket on it that looks like it uses a #40 chain. That's all I can really tell you though.....I don't know how it was actually driven though.

I recieved an early 70's hustler on a partial payment that has the original factory set-up with the jet. Mine is powered by a CCW engine. normal to look at with the exception of the clutch. behind the stationary plate is a pulley in the 6.25 ra. area that turns a 90 degree gearbox via a small v-belt. from the gearbox (btw is a 2 to 1 ratio) size 40 chain to turn the impeller. motor is locked up tight tight. I mean really tight!! I have a souped up bored kohler 440 that I am hoping to get the clutch to swap to.....lots of liquid wrench and w-d at this point....nothing on the frame, axles or bearings look to bad at this point. bright green in color and no cracks...hate those yellow wheels though....
