Glad to see you found one. How far out did you have to go for it?

Did you get it from coosaridgerider's son just needing a band in the trans replaced?

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Not that I know of. The guy I got it from really didn't know anything about these machines. He bought it a number of years ago to hunt in but never used it. He own an industrial machine shop and when he got it he had the guys in his shop tear it all down and rebuild it. I'm told the engine (18 horse opposed B&S)and transmission have been rebuilt. He put new tires on it, 4 new rims, all new axle bearings, all new sprockets and new chain. The body is in amazingly good condition. He picked up the machine with a crane so I could get a good view of the bottom side - hardly a scratch on it.

Although the machine is in good shape as far as I can tell, I will still strip it and reassemble it so that I will know what's what. It does need at least a few things that I have observed so far. The T20 is not tight in the cradle and it needs to be braced for the torque effect. The belt is too loose. The engine has a lot of movement as if the mounts are worn out. One thing that concerns me is the plungers stick way out of the trans case. Seller said they put in new bands, and didn't turn any off the drums other than polishing them. I guess I'll find out sooner or later....

Well Congratulations as we know you've been eyeing every one out there, hope it works out well for you. Take it out and give it a rundown, best way to see unforeseen problems such as if a bearing seams tight a solid hour on it will reveal any slop or tightness. You may not need to get into that (or any other) system.
