Thread: Hustler spinger anyone?

You guys that have been doing this awhile, what would be stronger to connect the outer and inner axles with, a double d joint with the inner axle end cut to mimic the double d and a hole cut or punched ito the cv joint so inner axle would go into out axle, or external splines on the inner axle going into internal splines on the cv

well, my hustler springer idea is slowly dieing, I called 10 shops around the area today and no one does spline cutting around here. the last option would be a U-joint set up

Contact member "whipper-ag". He will do it for you and ship them to you. I'm running his axles in my Max IV.

Picked a bad week for springer advice as most are off riding in the desert.

quick update, Just got all the bearings from member Meinfield been 2-3 weeks and still no word from buffalo bearings, still battling those stupid press bolts in the axles though. Wife doesn't think I can complete the hustler springer this year so now the challenge is on

    Rotax 503

Well I am now the new owner of a oil injected 503 rotax motor , not a cheap purchase but it should be a grat addition to the hustler when I get the springer mods done on it. Now to buy new sprockets and chains, what do you guys recommend, 50#, 60#?

50-1r should be strong enough for the chain.
Splined axles and sprockets would be best if you can get them made to fit.
I would also change the sprocket sizes cause the rotax will rev much higher.
Full throttle with my rotax is crazy fast and hard to control.
Gear it down a tooth or 2 after the t20 and it will have tons of torque.
Other members have changed gear ratios with great success.
