    I'm back !!! With a new hustler and a problem !!

Hi , I haven't been around here in a few years but I picked up a new hustler today , I think it's a bigfoot , it has the red kohler engine and roll bars gun racks and trunk rack but not sure anyway the previous owner didnt know what he was doing and filled the tranny up with gear oil and adjusted everything way out of wack so it goes forward with decent power and won't turn or back up , so what chemical to use to flush out the t20?

You would probably be better off pulling the t20 out and taking it apart to clean the parts with some sort of parts cleaner, then you can check to see if the gear oil did any damage.

Took the t20 apart today and .....

It looks bad but I'm cleaning everything and putting back together and see what happens, the bands have some stuff left but how much is not enough? And how much should I expect to pay for them?the drums are clean with no grovesimage.jpgimage.jpg

If you will use the search, there are several detailed posts on the thickness of bands and the lining as well as the best place to have them relined. Here's a couple to get you started:

Edit: Just checked out your photos and, it's hard to tell, but it looks like the band lining may be worn all the way to the band at the front lower left of the first photo? If so, you definitely need to get them relined. It could just be gear oil making the lining look like it's worn down to the bands?

It's hard to say if your bands are good from the picture or not. It looks like you have plenty of material in some spots, but it looks almost gone in others. Maybe it's just the shadows, I really don't know. Band crafters I believe is the preferred re-lining place and costs $35each.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

If in doubt......Get them relined! Bands are much cheaper than new drums + the bands.
