Nothing likes to stick to the HDPE, and add in the amount of body flex our machines endure. The end result is a crappy looking, half peeling paint job.
There is an epoxy that will stick, but it requires special prep work before application. WEST SYSTEM | Plastic Boat Repair - Kayak Massacre
Coating the entire top with this epoxy, then painting with automotive bumper type paint with the flex additive would work.......it probably wouldn't take more than a few days labor and $6-800 in paint and epoxy materials.
Hmmm, would you have to flame treat the whole body? Lol
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

YUP! WEST SYSTEM | Specialty Epoxies - G/flex
I think it is interesting that the adhesion to ABS is so much higher than to HDPE

Polypropylene has different properties than Polyethylene (HDPE= high density poly ethylene). Polyethylene has an oily/slippery surface, that's why it is used for wear runners and chain guides etc.
