Will a max 4 throttle cable fit -hustler 980 Bigfoot

Hi guys, Has anyone installed a heated throttle from a max4 on a hustler? I have a 25 Kohler Command in mine and it froze up on me last winter. Had to cover it with a blanket and put a ceramic heater in it for 45 minutes or so. Thanks for any help you can give me. Later Mike

    mike d ,

The throttle assembly on the Hustler Bigfoot that I recently bought was broken , so the previous owner gave me a new aluminum , throttle assembly , for a Max IV , and it fit perfectly on my Hustler Bigfoot. I would assume that a heated throttle assembly for a Max , would also work on your Hustler as well ?

The aluminum unit should bolt in. A max 2 heated throttle may be too short, but a max 4 will be long enough.

the heater part of it is easy to hook up, it is just a switched power and a ground. i use mine all the time in the winter on my max 2. also use a cable luber to lube it it helps force most of the moisture out of the cable so its less prone to freeze

    Thanks for the input

I called R.I. and talked with Jay. He didn't think I'd need the heated cable so I got the regular one. Also got a muffler for my max 2 and seat belts. Where does the money go??? Later Mike
