How many RPM's is the motor turning? Is your belt adjusted correctly? A loose belt will do that.

just a wild guess but have you checked to see if your throttle is opening the butterfly in the carb all the way
sure have i think it is all going to be in the gov on the 14 hp briggs only thing i have not checked

have you done a compression test on the cylinders?
not yet ...going to call local small engine shop see if they can check it out for me..

Years ago I encountered the same issue running hills with the 14 hp Briggs in my Max2. I did the standard checks that everyone mentioned, then lastly checked compression, and one cylinder was significantly weaker than the other. Upon teardown of the engine I noted lots of cylinder wear, as well as ring failure, which struck me as unusual because the engine ran so well on flat land. It did have about 500 hours on the machine at that time, I replaced it with an 18 HP Briggs and never looked back. My only regret is that I didn't go with a 23 HP but the 18 is more than adequate.
thanks iam going to see whats going on with it
whooooo i had a bad push rod iam back in action thanks for all the help 6x6 world
