Max IV: Rear seat removed with cargo box in it's place?

Hi. I got me a notion. I'd like to remove the rear seat and make a custom cargo box to fit in it's place to hold fuel and camping gear. This box would be removable (chain adjustment and lubing, etc.) Anyone do this sort if thing? Any advice? An recommendations? Any warnings? Any pictures? Thank you.

Jerseybigfoot did something like this on his red max IV that has Argo style sticks. Look through his gallery and you may see some good pics of his set up.

I was not successful in finding photos. Perhaps they might comment later.

I may not do this cargo box idea due to, if I remember correctly, the battery is mounted under the seat. I'm mot sure if its possible to relocate it or even where to put it. I realy don't want to make more work for my self then its worth.

    Rusty,

I saw Richard's Relics sells a rear seat that folds down (almost) flat. It's called a flip and store. It makes a false floor at seat level. That might work almost as well without a major revamp, but you would lose a few inches in height. The positive aspect is that the back seat would still be there for the times that you have a couple of riders.

Battery hard to get to because its under seat? No problem, just put a BMW badge on it.

    Akcrawler... Thanks for the suggestion.

Whipper... Yes, that is a nice cargo box. It looks like it goes down only to the seat? Or does it go to the floor board?

Phillippe... Sorry but I don't understand the BMW thing.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It gets the brain moving.
