    Help with split shift

Hello everyone, I would like to know what type of pipe or tubing would be best to use for the second shift lever for the split shift modification for the transmission.what material is normally used in this mod for strength and durability. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much and have a wonderful and safe weekend for those who will be riding the trails. God Bless.

I don't think it matters a whole lot. I just went to the metal store and bought some tubing of the same OD and wall thickness. Its not a high stress part so it doesn't have to be anything fancy. The detail of drilling a hole in the part you weld the handle to as a lubrication point is nice so I did that. TIG welded them together and powder coated it looks real nice.
